All Eyes on the Angels: The Return of The Runway Fantasy

The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show returned to LA this October, bringing together original Angels, new faces, and plenty of wings. This year's runway drew inspiration from the four seasons, shown in everything from floral details and colourful feathers to flowing metallic fabrics and sparkling lingerie. Bella Hadid opened the show in a floral bra and lime green mini skirt, while Adriana Lima closed in white beaded fringe and oversized wings. Rather than sticking to the classic pink and glitter we're used to, this year's designs played with different textures and exaggerated silhouettes. One thing's for sure: Victoria's Secret isn't holding back on the drama!
The model lineup was just as exciting. Familiar faces like Alessandra Ambrosio, Candice Swanepoel, and Gigi Hadid walked alongside current icons Alex Consani, Ashley Graham, and Paloma Elsesser. Bringing back some of the original Angels gave the show a nostalgic feel, while newer models brought in a fresh new era to the runway. With so many striking faces and captivating looks, it’s been pretty hard to pick a favourite.
And if that wasn't enough, the performances were also outstanding and iconic. Tate McRae, KATSEYE, Megan Moroney, and Megan Thee Stallion performed throughout the show, with models walking alongside them. KATSEYE brought the fun in playful pink and black looks for the PINK collection, while Megan Moroney stunned audiences with a glittering guitar and matching pink wings. Between the music, lingerie, and breathtaking wings, it was clear that this was a Victoria's Secret show. But amongst those on the runway, a few unexpected figures had their Victoria's Secret moment.
Kylie Jenner made her Victoria's Secret debut wearing the $50 million Fantasy Bra, covered in white/ silver diamonds and paired with white feathered wings. While the Fantasy Bra has previously been worn by some of the most recognizable Angels, this year's choice created a lot of discourse around why the look went to a celebrity rather than an established runway model. Whether you liked it or not, it was certainly one way to get people talking.
Victoria's Secret has always had a reputation for its glamorous runway, but the beauty standards it presents haven't been celebrated by everyone. Before its cancellation in 2019, the show was criticized for its lack of body diversity and limited view of what an Angel could look like. Since returning in 2024, the brand has introduced models of different sizes and backgrounds, something we weren't used to seeing in its previous shows.
While this change is worth celebrating, diversity shouldn't be something new in fashion. The idea isn't to abandon the fantasy, but to make it more inclusive. After all, oversized wings and sparkling lingerie will look good on any woman regardless of her size. Victoria's Secret is keeping the glamour we know and love, but this time, it's inviting all of us to the show.
